History

Darwin E. Banister has been involved in the Martial Arts for over 30 years. He has received ranking as a Master Black Belt under 5 world leading Martial Arts Instructors: Professor Remy Presas- Modern Arnis, Professor Wally Jay- Small Circle Ju Jitsu, Professor Leo Fong- Kung Fu, 8th Dan Grand Master Mickey Wittekiend- Tae Kwon Do, and Professor George Dillman- Ryukyu Kempo who just recently promoted Banister to 7th Dan Grand Master making him the highest ranking USA Ryukyu Kempo Martial Artist in the state of Michigan.

In 2001 Banister was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame for his work as a Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics Instructor. After that Banister went on to design seminars and training manuals for the largest retailers and security companys in the world to include Wal Mart, JCPenny, Sports Authority, Wacken Hut security, Detroit Lions Security, and many more. Banister also developed the largest and most successful women and childrens self defense program in Girl Scout history teaching over 100, 000 Girl Scouts in a 5 year period.

Today Banister is the Chief Instructor at Clarkston Self Defense and continues to conduct Life Saving Self Defense seminars.
